My 1985 300TD wagon rear seats are lowered by lifting a lever that is visible when you open the side doors and look at the bottom sides of the seats. Lift the lever and you can lift the seat up from the rear by pulling up from the crack where bottom and back join. There is another lever for lowering the back part along the side where the seat belt hangs down.
