This tense is formed for the auxiliary verb "haber" in its Imperfect form "habÃa" and the main verb in its participle form. The general idea is to conjugate the verb giving the idea of an action done during the past, but not at present .

An example of the pluperfect tense is "She had already finished her homework before going to bed." In this sentence, the verb "finished" is in the pluperfect tense, indicating an action that was completed before another past action.
