Usually on the top, on the incoming cold pipe.

What if your toilet makes a noise out of no were?

Your ballcock is comming on -- replace tank ball or sometimes you have to change out flush valve -- but change tank ball first and see if that will do it You hardly ever have to change flush valve -- Your ballcock is what lets water come into your tank

How do you stop the water from the hot water tank coming to the tap?

There is a shutoff valve on the cold pipe going into the H/W tank, if you close it no water will come out of the tank. There should also be a shutoff valve on the wall below each faucet/tap.

When I turned on valve to toilet after being off for a while no water is filling the tank?

Make sure your main water is turned on by turning on another sink or bath and if it is then turn your toilet valve off and on a couple times and see if any water comes out in your tank. If still no water is filling the tank then shut off the valve and take the supply tube off the valve and turn the valve on slowly to see if you have any water comming out. If still no water then your valve is plugged or your pipe to the valve is plugged which then you would need to clean out your valve or lines with the whole house water shut off. Sometimes I have seen that the plug is in between the valve an supply pipe connection and as soon i take the supply pipe off and turn on the valve it works just fine even when I put the supply pipe back to the toilet. I don't think it would be in your fill valve in your toilet tank unless you have pressure assist tanks and with them all you need to do is take out the screen inside them.

How do you replace a relief valve on a water heater?

You turn the power OFF, close the incoming cold valve, drain about 3-4 gallons from the spigot at base. Then unscrew the relief valve with a pipe wrench and fit the new one with pipe joint compound or tape on the threads. -As simple as that. IF your tank has an 'anode' rod, you should change this too if over 5 years old. This is a large nut on top of the tank with a long rod below it. This protects the tank from minerals in the water, and disintegrates as it does so. -About $25 to buy and very easy to fit. -Extends tank life by 5-8 years.

Is it important to know if the plumbing fixtures are flush valve or flush tank when calculating water supply pipe sizes?

What a npt valve is in a water tank pressure system?

npt, national pipe thread, is a standard for threads on a screw. I (not a plumber) don't believe "npt valve" makes sense , but probably refers to a valve which has npt threading. Yes, a NPT Valve would be a valve with pipe threads as opposed to a sweat valve which has solder connections. There are several other type of piping connections too.

What is a time rate of change?

An example, of a rate of change over time is the emptying of a water tank by opening a valve at the bottom of the tank. The rate of flow through the valve is dependent n the pressure difference through the orifice(valve), controlled by the difference in the level of the water in the tank. As the water level drops the rate of flow drops because the pressure difference drops. The amount of time it will take to drain the tank completely can be calculated as a rate of change over time. Note: this rate of flow can be elevated by elevating the tank, thus a valve attached to the bottom of the tank directly will have a faster rate of change but slower rate of flow than a valve attached some distance below the tank.

How can you siphon the gas out of your 1993 dodge caravan?

If it is the same as a 1992 Caravan, you can't. There is a check valve ball in the tank end of the filler pipe.

Can propane lines freeze to an inside stove?

Yes it will work. But if you turn the valve open to fast there is a safety mechanism inside the valve and the propane will not come out. You will need to open the valve slowly for the tank to work.
