There are many possibilities, you could use your hands, although this is not recommended, you could use chopsticks, or perhaps a knife and fork, however the recommended approach is to eat it with something else, such as a ham and cheese sandwich, in that case you follow the recommended eating guidelines of the other food.

Before the bacon or the hot dog is cooked you can rap the bacon around the hot dog and fry it.

No its not because bacon is greasy itself. If you were cooking something more dry this would be needed.

Have never deep fried but do fry cabbage by chopping it and placing in hot pan of fried bacon and the grease from the bacon,chopped onion.Half way thru I add some sugar,salt and pepper and a little water.

Deep fry it. Done it countless times....so amazing. For best results, pour seasoning salt on it directly after taking it out of the oil, and let sit on a paper towel. Oh, and don't use strips...if you can find it, get ends and pieces, you get thicker chunks that way...I never buy it in strip form anymore.) Put enough oil or other fat in a pan deep enough to cover the bacon pieces. Heat it on medium heat, add the bacon and stir often until the bacon is brown and crispy. Scoop out the bacon with a strainer or slotted spoon and drain it on paper towels.
