When you stand in front of a person and a bubble with a question mark appears above there head, that means your able to fuse kinstones. To fuse you simply press left trigger and choose a kinstone of yours that matches the other persons.

You don't actually need to see a thought bubble to fuse Kinstones with someone. If you know you can fuse Kinstones with a person, you can simply press the L button while in front of them, and they'll ask if you want to fuse Kinstones.

Use it and you will have a purple tunic which boosts attack and defence, but in phantom hourglass, you cannot obtain another tunic.
