Depends on what sort of motor it was. If it was the sort you find in an ordinary electric drill, then it would slow down. But rememer, the only way you can reasonably reduce the current in to motor is to reduce the voltage in the supply. A motor takes what current it can, dependent on Ohm's Law. To reduce the current, reduce the voltage. But in a three-phase motor, the speed being dependent on the rotation of the phases, it would more or less stay the same. But this assumes it's not under load. A load would cause it to slow down.
Different things in a machine can rotate. In a motor, the rotor will rotate or revolve. We also find shafts, gears, pulleys, cams, flywheels and a number of other parts that spin.
I dont know what they are worth but I know they are pretty rare these day. My neighbor has one in his garage with almost all of the original parts. He cant find parts anywhere.

Its actually not that difficult to find vintage Chevrolet parts. Edmonds and Hemmings Motor News both have ongoing publications where you can buy these parts. There are also companies that reproduce vintage parts.
One can find listings of stores that sell motor vehicle parts in the Chicago area using the yellow pages. This is a free services supplied to the citizens.
