Unfortunately, you have to buy the full Microsoft Office pack, which normally retails from around £99.99 for Home and Student to £449.99 for Professional. Personally I would recommend Home and Student, but if you are on a limited budget OpenOffice is just as good (openoffice.org).

Rename the PowerPoint from "---.pptx" to "---.ppt".This should have converted it and should now be viewable on computers without PowerPoint 2007 or the PowerPoint 2007 Viewer.
If you do not have PowerPoint, I would say that your computer did not come with the full office suite, if you do not want to buy it, openoffice is a great alternative, and its free.
