Hmm.. very interesting. If you havent installed it, try browsing view the CD. If you have the game installed, you could always make a back up of the DVD, or convert the DVD image to a ISO, this would enable you to play sims 3, without a DVD. This is not illegal, this is just backing up your DVD.
