Where is the distributor on 2002 explorer sport 4.0 engine?

Actually , it doesn't have a distributorIt's EDIS ( Electronic Distributorless Ignition System ) and has a coil packThe coil pack towers are numbered :coil---3---4pack--2---6plug---1---5The coil pack is located to the drivers side of the engine on your 4.0 L - SOHC

Disconnected the 5 4 and 6 wires from the distributor on a 1998 f-150 4.2 engineFailed to note which wire goes to what spark plug Can you help?

AnswerThe firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 Spark plugs are located in this order. Starting at the front of the engine passenger side, front to rear, they are 1-2-3. Drivers side front to rear, 4-5-6. With the # 1 cylinder at top dead center on the compresion stroke, note the position of the rotor. It will be pointing to the #1 plug. The next will be 4, and so on.=========================================================A 1998 Ford F-150 , 4.2 liter V6 engine has the Electronic DistributorlessIgnition System ( EDIS )The 6 towers on the coil pack are numbered :coil-----3 - 4pack---2 - 6plug----1 - 5

Are the wires numbered on coil pack?

No. There are no numbers on a coil.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------On the 4.0 L - V6 Ford engines the coil pack towers are numbered :coil---3---4pack--2---6plug---1---5I respectfully disagree - on a certain aspect of coils and numbering: there has to be numbering of some sort to distinguish one port from another. It may be true there are no numbers, in a literal sense, printed on the coil itself. That leaves a person with having to distinguish #1 from 2, etc, in some other method. That's what the 'text-drawing' above is trying to establish: there is a wire connection plug in 1 corner - from the point of beginning, count across the row of three ports, 1 -2 -3, and then the bottom row is 5 - 6 - 4 (yes, it is a fractured sequence). For much more about firing orders, cylinder numbers, coils and getting the wires properly connected, check out the "Related Question" below. While that question was written to the Windstar, the information is fully applicable to a great number of Ford / Mercury products out there today.

How much does it cost to fix a cylinder 2 misfire in a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant?

A cylinder misfire can be a number of things. If you have a coil pack that has more than one coil on it, like a 4pack or a 6pack set up, it could be that that particular coil isn't firing. PUll off the wire on the number 2 cylinder and put a screw driver in it, touching the electrode wire inside, the lean it near a metal component on the engine and have someone turn over the engine like your starting the car, and if you don't see Any spark, and you are sure you are touching the metal wire piece inside the spark plug wire, then the coiil is probably bad. If you get spark, you probably have another issue. One thing I know for sure...... carbon build up around the intake valve or exhaust valve due to a leak in the exhaust, will definitely cause a misfire, and that's gonna cost ya lots to remove the head, get a valve job done, and fix the exhaust leak that caused it. Can also be other things too. Just try the spark test first, and then if you get spark, take your car to a good repair shop. Goood Luck.

What battery has more power 6 volt or a 4pack of aa's?

It depends. Maximum power depends upon something called the "internal resistance" of the battery, and that depends on both on the battery's chemistry and physical construction. The electrical characteristics of whatever you connect the battery to will also play a big part in how much power you see from the battery. You may be more interested in which batteries can deliver more energy. This is slightly different from power. Maximum energy would control how many flashes you get from fresh batteries in your camera while maximum power would control how long you have to wait between flashes.Battery specifications rarely mention maximum power. In marine and car batteries, "cranking amps" gives you a rough indicator of maximum power.Battery specs usually do give you an idea of the typical energy capacity. This is measured in "amp hours" or "milliamp hours."6 volt batteries vary a lot. If you have a "lantern style" battery of the smaller, spring-top variety, top-quality alkaline batteries are rated something like 12-13 amp hoursAA batteries vary, too. Top quality alkaline AA's are rated something like 1-1.5 amp hours. If you put four together in series to give you 6V, you'd have a pack giving you 1-1.5 amp hours (series gives you more volts but not more amp hours). In terms of total energy, the 6V lantern battery would be about ten times better. It's probably better in total power, too.
