Legendary Pokemon such as Darkrai are not capable of producing eggs like normal pokemon. This is a bothersome Nintendo method of ensuring that legendary Pokemon remain somewhat rare in the community.
(The only exception to this rule is Manaphy, who, when bred, will produce a Phione, which is a non-Legendary Pokemon)
