If he's mad at you, he's already interested. The problem is to stop him from being mad. Try apologizing for, or explaining, whatever it is he thinks you did, then go from there.
He admitted he loved you and you tried being friends with him. He is mad that you are "just friends". He pobably thought that you would fall in love with him after becoming friends. You need to tell him to stop getting mad at you for little things if it would help you could stop talking to him in general.
Stop making them mad, and they won't be mad at you. Then everything will be fine.
