u have to buy a heart shaped fruit from the market. feed it to the chao and eventually little flowers spring up from where it is sitting. when that happens take the chao you want to mate it with and place it in the circle. they do a dance and then an egg pops up. its cool to experiment with different chao colors and species. i got an invisible chao once.

I think this is the best chao you could ever get. Have 5 chaos,each specialiced on a skill: swim chao,run chao,fly chao,power chao,normal (stamina) chao.All them must have an S grade on their ability (or an A,in case you don't get an S.)If you have an A chao and it's a child,consider training it more on its specialiced ability to raise a grade and get an S. Breed swim with run,fly with power.Breed the resulting babies,and breed this final baby with stamina. Keep breeding and breeding until you get an all S grade chao.Then get it to become a Chaos chao and raise all it's levels to 99. It's pretty wicked.

There is no breeding garden. Go to the black market in the chao kindergarten(the lockers) and if you went at the right time there will be heart fruits for 300 coins. Buy 2 and give one to the each of the chaos. They should grow a ring of flowers around them. If one doesn't, pet the chao and stuff an put it next to the other chao. Hope this helps

How do you get a black chao in sonic adventure 2 battle without cheating?
There are several ways to get "black" chao, each one different for whatever type of "black" you mean. A monotone black chao can be bought as an egg at the black market. This chao, when older, may breed to produce more black chao. There are also SHINY black chao eggs. The "black" chao from the Dreamcast version (also the chao you see in the challenge races that a sortof grayish color with sleepy eyes) can also be obtained on SA2:B by breeding any two-tone chao with a gray chao. This will produce a two-tone gray chao or "black". (NOTE: This is not a BLACK chao, it's just called black..) Many darker two-tone colored chao will turn blackish with colored highlights when alligned to the Dark side(devil chao). Finally, a normal chao, when alligned to the Dark side will be very dark in color, sometimes almost black.
Can you turn a hero chao into a dark chao?
Yes. After spending 15 hours in the garden (collectively) your chao will reincarnate (if treated well). It will return to egg form and rehatch into a child chao, so that you can start over. It will retain 10% of its stats from its previous life. Also feed it the fruits from the dark garden and give it at least a few dark fruits from the market even before or after it is/turns back to a child chao.
