You first go to buy mode. Then click on the 'sort by room' button on the left hand side of the buy mode slide. Click on out doors. Click on cars. Buy a car. I think that's right...haven't played it in a wile because I just got The Sims 3. It may be under Misc. But I know for sure there are cars in buy mode. Keep looking if this isn't right because they are there. (You also have to buy a driveway to put it on. That's in the same place as the cars are I think...if not, check build mode.)
