It's hidden behind the rear number plate, held in place with a magnetic clip. You'll need to remove the number plate and then apply a strong magnetic field to release the keyholder. Any decent hardware store will be able to provide a suitable electromagnet once you explain what it's needed for.
Try using a key from another Chevy or GMC pickup. It has worked twice for me with family members and the key I used wasn't the same year or model. Just don't force it if it doesn't work easily.

Begin by removing the retaining ring at the top of your 1986 Toyota pickup truck ignition switch. The ignition switch will slide out. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition switch.
Its on the bottom drivers side of the radiator. Just inside the bottom of the wheel well lip is your easiest access. It should be a plastic "key" type on that truck. May be a plug at the bottom or rear bottom of radiator
The old "slim jim" trick doesn't work well anymore. They redesigned the inside of the door to make harder to jimmy the lock. Keep a spare key in your wallet or stashed under the truck somewhere only you know about.
