Depending on which state your in the rules maybe different, I suggest looking in the yellow pages or online for real estate classes and ask, but for Florida you would do the following
First apply with the DBPR, I got the forms from the Real Estate class I attended,
Second you would take the class, while your waiting for the approval letter from the DBPR you can take the class if you chose, otherwise you can wait to be approved
Three after the DBPR approves you, make an appointment to take the Real Estate Exam
Last you can take RealEstate exam (75% to pass) after you pass you'll get you license in the mail
