How do you get a tire off a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT 4-wheel drive after the lug nuts are off but there is something in the center holding the wheel on?

With the tire jacked up so it isn't touching the ground , put 1 lug nut back on loosely so when the wheel comes loose it doesn't go rolling away , and give the front of the tire a kick on one side and if necessary alternate sides . ( some people turn around and kick the tire like a mule kicks ! )
