Find the alligator with the DK coin as a shield and there will be a tin barrel somewhere near. You have to get him in the back because he's armored everywhere. Throw the barrel on the wall, then it will bounce off and hit him. Then you can get the DK coin.

He will face you which ever way you go, so make him look at you, then when you throw the barrel at the wall, it will bounce off and hit his unarmed back. Then with him dead and out of the way, you can grab the DK Coin. Easy!:)
