∙ 16y agoThey are mean to you because they feel inadequate, and being mean makes them feel better about themselves. Meanness comes from their insecurity and jealousy of you. The best way to get them back is to ignore them. It's your reaction that makes them feel they've succeeded. If you don't react, you deprive them of that satisfaction. Just shrug your shoulders and feel sorry for them that they are so miserable. You have something that they can't have, like friends or good looks, and that's why they're mean.

∙ 12y agoSadly, you can't and that's life. However you can do your best to avoid them. Make sure you yourself are kind and loving to other people. If you personally are being picked on make sure you tell a responsible adult like a parent or a teacher. Most importantly, rise above it and show them that you are unfazed by it. Bullies always look for a reaction and if they don't get one they get bored and fed up.
Addition: Keep in mind that ignoring them is one of these reactions that they look for. Try to reat them like everybody else, be nice like you would to anyone else. This requires strength, but that shows and can be extremely impressive. In the end though, no advice can tell you what is the best for you. You will have to find your way of dealing with life.
