There are different badges and awards depending on what you do. Just signing up gives you a badge, and so does being a trusted contributor. If you join programs, you get badges for that. If you complete so many missions, you get badges for that. If you enter an Answerthon and participate, you get a badge for that. Usually, there are place badges, runners-up badges, and honorable mention. If you become a supervisor, you get a badge for that, and there are different types of supervisors. If you ever apply and get hired at Answers, there is even a badge for that.
One user cannot have all the badges on WikiAnswers. Joining groups is a way to get badges.
Badges, badges, badges! Those are a big part of the 'rewards' system on WikiAnswers. You can earn them for answering a lot, helping a lot, having many trust points, winning contests, etc. Also, trust points: Those are given by fellow contributors when they liked an answer or think you are doing a great job. You can also be promoted to a new level of community participation, like Special Project Assistant, WikiGuide or Supervisor. If you enter WikiAnswers contests, like the AnswerThons, you can win prizes! It's pretty cool!
The official WikiAnswers badges are made by our amazing graphics artist, Denise.
There is a Wikianswers headquarters that is located in New York City where people actually work for this site and are paid. These are the only people that earn money because Wikianswers is a volunteer site that rewards badges to their users that make significant contributions to the site.
There are many sportsday events that give merit badges as rewards. Some of the best places where one could earn merit badges as rewards would be sports events like American football games.
