Flip the Vulcan over, so it's bottom side is facing up. You will find a section of it painted orange (an orange block with a round knob in the middle. To the rear is a single metal screw. Unscrew that metal screw. The orange section lifts off easily and reveals an orange battery tray inside. Slide it out, replace the batteries, and slide back in with the metal contacts facing the front of the gun.

yes
The Vulcan requires batteries to function, but does not come with the blaster. You have to keep buying new batteries, which is quite expensive.
no
To fire automatically, you do, but the Vulcan can fire single-shot and does not need batteries to do so.
The batteries make the gun go full auto.
you need 2
The vulcan takes 6 D batteries. It sounds like a ripoff, but it lasts REALLY long, and for the vulcan? TOTALLY worth it.Trust me.
do you mean does the Nerf vulcan have automatic fire? if so yes, pressing and holding the trigger is all it takes. provided you added batteries
