How do you throw the darts on cryptids island?

The darts take a bit of practice, but it becomes easier when they begin to use better darts. Basically, you are "throwing" by pulling back and then letting go. You can do this as slowly as you like.

Click on a dart to pick it up, and move it in front of the dartboard. Click again and hold to aim at the center, or any spot. Pull back on your mouse and the dart will move back (downward) on the screen. When you have moved a ways, release the mouse button to throw. With practice, you can judge exactly how far back (down) you have to go to throw on target every time. You should pull back the dart about one-half the width of the dart board to hit your X.

Sometimes the players will challenge you, but occasionally they play badly and it is not difficult to win.

The darts, regardless of their construction, all fly about the same. You click the dart to pick it up, then click and hold as you drag your mouse backward, then release the mouse button to throw the dart.

Once you click a dart to pick it up, aim the point near the bullseye of the dartboard and click again, but do not let go of the mouse button. An X will appear on the aiming point. Coninue to hold the button as you pull your mouse backward, and the dart will appear to be moving lower on the screen. Keep it directly under the X. When it gets down to about half the width of the dartboard lower than the X, release the mouse button and it will throw.

By varying the distance you move lower, you can get the dart to hit near your aim point (X). This takes some practice, but the other players will not always score high.

You play darts against the players in the Pub at Loch Ness. To throw a dart, you will click on the dart, click and hold to aim at the dartboard, then release the mouse button to throw.

Click on a dart and then scroll your mouse over to the dartboard. The dart will shift around so try to get it in the center of the dartboard before clicking again. This places an aiming point (x) on the board. Without letting the button go, drag your mouse backward, which will show the dart pulling away from the board (actually moving downward). The farther you pull back, the higher the dart will go -- too little and it will fall below the X; too much and it will fly well above the X. With practice you can determine how far back (down) to drag before letting the dart go. You can also steer left and right, but this is not as accurate.

On your first trip to Loch ness, you get the camera and you win a rowboat ticket. Get the "humps" photo and take it back to Mews.

When you return, play against the other player for a submarine ticket. Get a "Nessie" photo from the bottom of the Loch and bring it back to the pub.

Each time you play a new series, you get darts. The first time, you use some beat-up darts that are harder to aim. When you retunr to play the other two players, you get batter darts. When the first player returns to challenge you, you use some excellent darts.

The dart falls to the floor because you are not "pulling it back" to throw it.

You click the first time to pick up the dart. When you click the second time, you are aiming -- do not let go of the mouse button! Pull back on your mouse and the dart will move downward, as if you are pulling back your arm to throw it. When it gets about half the width of the board lower than your X, release the mouse button and it will fly toward the board. The lower you go, the higher it will fly. With practice you can hit the X almost every time.
