Not sure, but if you find out please post it!!! I have been experiencing discomfort in my lower chest / upper abdomen for about one full year. It was caused by my 2-year old son jumping on my back while I was lying on the floor (face down). After a dozen or so doctor visits with three different doctors, an X-ray, an upper GI (with a Barium drip), two MRI's, and various other exams, I was finally diagnosed with an inflammed xiphoid from the trauma (impact of me hitting the floor when my son jumped on my back). I was told that that area is full of nerve endings, which is what's causing the discomfort. Plus, healing is difficult and lengthy because that region cannot be isolated - it is involved with everything from breathing to coughing. The discomfort ranges from mild tenderness to mild pain and is directly related to how much activity I do. It typically bothers me more when I am sitting for long periods of time. I've tried everything from anti-inflammatories to accu-puncture and I just can't seem to shake this bizarre ailment. I keep getting told that it will heal in time but it's been a year! I'm currently looking for yet another doctor (in the NYC area) that might have some experience with this type of injury and who could provide more insight as to how it can be treated. Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated.

Of course! Gastritis is the inflammation of the stomach lining, it has nothing to do with reproduction.
Inflammation will likely be cured by removal of the tonsils if the inflammation in question is in the throat. As for panic attacks, unless they are triggered by anxiety regarding the inflammation and tonsil-related health concerns, tonsil removal is probably irrelevant. If the panic attacks are triggered by anxiety regarding inflammation of the tonsils, having the tonsils removed will stop those particular panic attacks - but such a person is evidently prone to anxiety disorders and might want to consider discussing the matter with their doctor as the presence of panic attacks may point to an underlying inability to cope.
