After you try to communicate with Zelda herself and sneak past many guards, you will be leaving Hyrule. When you are doing so, you will be on Hyrule field when you hear a horse noise. You will turn around to notice Ganondorf kidnapping Zelda on his horse. While doing so, Zelda throws her ocarina into the moat around Hyrule village. When the scene is over, go to the water (the moat) and dive to get the ocarina.
After you beat the Deku Tree, you go to hyrule castle. sneak past the guards. then you find her as young link. as an adult, well when you see Sheik, he IS Zelda
