To play a movie in closed caption the VLC Media Player needs to be able to perform the closed caption function. If the VLC Media Player is not compatible with closed captioning, it cannot be done.

I own the same tv, bought from FutureShop, and after nearly a year of use, I'm getting the same blank black screen in the middle all of a sudden.
