First off, what are you even doing with a Windows 2000 operating system? You should get Windows 7. Second, theoretically, it COULD work, but if you're using an original Windows 2000 computer, the graphics card isn't powerful enough. My advice: upgrade. Or wait 2 months for Windows 8.
Best way is to copy off the files you want, then format the drive and install WIndows 2000 from scratch. It always works far better that way than to try to do an Upgrade from one OS to another.
Microsoft Windows XP is Microsoft's 5th revision of Windows NT. Windows XP is based off Windows 2000 and unified the Home and Business lines of OS. Previously, Windows NT up to Windows 2000 was a business orientated OS while Windows 95 to Windows ME was a home oriented OS. Windows Vista is Microsoft's 6th revision of Windows NT and introduced may new features including updated security and a new graphical user interface caller Aero.
Windows 98 uses an older technology based on DOS, Windows 2000 is based on the NT Kernel. Sometimes Windows NT OS's don't work right with old dos files. With a clean install, you get a fresh start. With an upgrade, problems with applications or the OS may follow you into the new load.Install off of your Windows 2000 CD and then have Windows search for your Win 98 CD when it checks for valid upgrade path.
I am sorry but that is actually false. If you have two separate drives you can put them both in the same computer. You would have one with Windows 98 and one with Windows 2000. Your computer will just boot off of the one you have setup, which you can change by going into the BIOS. Once you are in Windows you can look at either drive using explorer or going through my computer. The guy below is incorrect in so many ways, I would delete his answer but I'll keep it so you know what not to do!AnswerIf you mean to add a drive with windows 2000, from another PC to a PC that is running win 98 at the moment. Then im afraid the answer is no. Reason being, on the win 2k drive, it has the drivers off the other machine. The drivers for the win 98 machine will be different. You can upgrade the drive which is running win 98, to win 2k, by installing win 2k over the top. But before this is done, please ensure that a full back up of all your existing data is made before installation.Hope this helpsBe safe
you have to format your PC,automatic updates are turned off due to the virus which affect you computer
Using the Soft Switch also called the Soft Power feature an OS, such as Windows 2000/XP or Windows 98, can turn off the power to a system after shutdown procedure is done.
Windows 2000 does this when it is running on a machine that doesn't support ACPI or APM. Make sure that these are enable in the BIOS. You may have to reinstall Windows 2000 to get ACPI working again.
Windows 2000 will not be supported by Microsoft after next year, so you need to start moving off it. You can use either version of Exchange on Windows 2000 with SP3 or later. If you are going to cluster it then both Windows and Exchange need to be Enterprise Edition. Also Exchange Enterprise Edition supports more databases and greater storage limits than Standard Edition. Answer:You can use exchange server 2003 with windows server 2000. or you can upgrade windows server 2003 and use exchange server.
did you check the fuses first? Do you have power to the master switch?
I run AOE II here (on XP Pro SP3) without any real problems run it in Windows 98 compatibility mode. If you run any funny monitor setup, you could get some graphics off the screen, play in windowed mode to fix that issue.
