Yes, you can have over 4.000 horses if you want. When you first register on Howrse, you will get some easy quests to learn how to play Howrse, and when you have finished those quests, you will get a free horse of the same breed as your first horse.

To get the three passes you need to buy a Philosopher's Stone for free, you can buy three pass horses (over age 30 without stone). When they die, you will have the passes needed. Or you could buy a pass using 20% of your reserve on the passes page.
You can get free fully trained horses on Howrse by doing objectives. Go on profile, then My Objectives and it will tell you what to do. it tells you what your reward is too. Sometimes it's money or other times. It can be a free fully trained pegasus or maybe just a fully trained horse. You can also buy: horses ponies pegasuss unicorns and donkeys at the auction or private sales but they cost money.

The EC can board horses for money, house your own horses for free, give riding lessons, host competitions, and grow crops. It is also a place where you can create a forum and communicate with other players.
