You have to go through Ice Cave after you beat the old gym leader. There is a pattern that you have to follow while going in the cave (I know this because I have finished the game(s) multiple times. Then you can get to Clair. I am sorry because this is the eighth gym.
You have to go east of Estroteke city going through mount mortar or you can surf the easy way.

∙ 13y agogo to the light house and go to top floor speak to the girl next to the amorsph then u need to cross the sea and get the medican then return to olivin city go back up there and give the gym leader the medican then u go to the gym now the trainers will not battle u as u batled them in the light house do just go right up to her hope this hellped

∙ 12y agoonce you have talked to dawn and rowan in canalave libarey you visit the river youre ask to visit then go through mount corenet until you reach route216 then keep on goin thruogh the blizzard until you see he pokemart at snowpoint city the gym is is right in the middle of the city.(make shore you've met your freind and team galatic at the river next to snowpoint and the one near your house in twinleaf town)
buy the book that will walk you through the whole game its not expensive u can go to like eb games or something. good luck

∙ 14y agoAfter you talk to the gym leader in the lighthouse go to Olivine city to get the medicine and beat Gym 6. Then return to Cianwood and give the medicine to Ampharos in the Lighthouse and the leader will return to her gym.

∙ 14y agoYou can get to the 7th gym by Surfing south of Pallet town. There will be some trainers to be ready to battle. After getting there, you will need to get the key from the Abandoned Mansion.
