If voltage is given as RMS voltage (which it normally is), simply multiply the number of volts by the RMS current (as number of amps), and then divide by one thousand.

Power (in kW)=Voltage (RMS volts) * Current (RMS amps) / 1000 (watts/kW)

How many amps is 50 kilowatts?

It depends on the voltage. For example if you had 120 volts (average Alternating Current supply voltage) you would have 6 kilowatts. However, if you were dealing with 12 volts (average Direct Current supply voltage) you would only have 1.4 kilowatts. Use the following equation to calculate the number of kilowatts produced from different voltages:(Voltage x 50)/1000 = # kilowatts

How many kilowatts does 7 amps pull?

Seven amps pulls zero kilowatts . W = A x V. You need to state a voltage to multiply the amperage by to get watts. Then divide by 1000 to get kilowatts.

How many 12 kw is in amps?

There are zero kilowatts in amps. A voltage value has to be supplied before an answer can be given. I = W/E. Amps = Watts/Volts = 12000/Volts. Alternatively, you could state the resistance, from which the amps are determined from P/R = I2.

Would a 10 amp mcb be enough for how kilowatts?

To answer this question a voltage must be stated. Watts = Amps x Volts. For kilowatts divide by 1000.

What will the value of power dissipate if voltage 5 volts and resistance 0.0007 ohm?

Roughly 36 kilowatts.

How do you calculate kilovoltamps when kilowatts is known?

KVA (kilovoltamperes) is KW (kilowatts) divided by sin(90 - theta) where theta is the phase angle between voltage and current. This answer assumes a sinusoidal, linear load.

How many kilowatts are in an atom?

Watts (and kiloWatts) are a measure of power, which is energy per second. Since it depends on something that isn't determinable from the given information, it is impossible to say.

What is the value of twelve hp in kilowatts?

12 kilowatts is an amount of power that is the voltage times the current in amps. So 12 kilowatts could be provided by 100 volts at 120 amps, or 1000 volts at 12 amps. Equipment is designed to work at a standard voltage, then the current taken is enough for the amount of power it uses.

How many kilowatts are in 9.2 amps?

A watt is a unit of power. An amp is a unit of current. P=IE. Power is current (I) times voltage (E). Pulling 9.2 amps at 120 volts uses 1104 Watts or 1.104 kilowatts.

You know the voltage and amps how do you convert to kw?

Power is obtained using the equation: Power (Watts) = Voltage (Volts) x Current (Amps) To convert to Watts to Kilowatts (kW), simply divide by 1000 (or shift the DP left by 3 places). eg. 5000W = 5kW Bringing these together: Kilowatts = ( Volts x Amps ) / 1000

Calulate kw FROM single-phase voltage and ampere?

Watts = Voltage X Amperes X Power Factor Power Factor = Cosine of the Angle between Voltage and Current For purely resistive circuits, Power in Watts = Voltage X Amperes Watts divided by 1000 = kiloWatts

How do you calulate KVA when you know amps and voltage?

KVA = (0.001) times (Amperes) times (Volts)Kilowatts = (KVA) times (power factor)
