You can help your friends with favors, which is usually something like stopping a fire or plugging a water leak. The first few friends you help will give you more money than the ones you help last. You can also sell useless thing by clicking on the "redecorate" button (the tool at the icons on the bottom) or click on the trees surrounding your restaurant.
