You shouldn't even be trying. Dog sexuality is mainly driven by scent - a female coming into heat. If there's none of that around, dogs really won't think about sex.

However, NEVER introduce the two dogs insde a house - introduce them somewhere that is neither of them's territory (a park etc.) before putting them in the same house together. Remember that an entire male and female will almost certainly breed so you might want to consider spaying/neutering if you don't want to breed.

it is slightly hard for a dog to tell if a female is spayed or not, as it just seems like she is not in heat. if your male trys to mount your female (request to breed), your female will simply growl at him just like she would when she is not in heat!
