How do you get married on sims?

To get your Sims married...

1. Build up the friendship meter to get to love. (Both Sims)
2. Click on the opposite Sim and there should be a proposetab click that and there should be engagement. Click the engagement tab and they are engaged. (Your Sims can decline the engagement.)
3. After, open up the furniture catalogue and click on miscellaneous when you've done that click on party(or all) and look for the wedding arch. (This can also be found in Outdoor miscellaneous)
4. Once placing the wedding arch, click on it a tab should come up saying get married. (You're Sims can decline that as well.)
5. If you want a party, buy a wedding cake and bottle of wine and a stereo as well as the wedding arch, before getting married click on the phone and click the throw party tab and then wedding party. When the guests have arrived you click get married on the arch. After cut the wedding cake and toast. If you get over great time a limo comes and picks you up to whisk you away on a honeymoon. (pregnant woman cant go on honeymoons. Don't miss the limo as well.)
6. If you can't be bothered with the hassle, after proposing, click on the Sim again and click propose and then marriage

First have a sim propose to another sim. Make sure those sims REALLY like each other or the propose-e will say no and those sims will stop having any good relationships with each other. (If you go into the neighborhood and type in the cheat (ctrl-shift-c) "boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true" w/o quotes you can just drag the relationship up) If the sim does say yes they will (if not already) fall in love. (Ps: vice-versa; love does not guarantee a yes) Just say propose again, this time it will be marriage. (or if you have party stuff, buy an arch to get married) NOTE: marriage requires an even higher relationship so keep working at it if you do not want the hilarious Cold Feet video. Congrats your sims just got married (PS: Sim City allows gay marriage if you want to do that) If the sim you got married to does not live on your lot they will move in with their children and bring any money they've made. IMPORTANT: If you have Inteenamator, a hack found on simbiology.com that allows teen sims to get pregnant, NONE OF THE PROPOSE INTERACTIONS MAY BE AVAILABLE, found that out the hard way. One more thing I learned the hard way: young adults, the sims in college, can get engaged but can not get married until graduation, expulsion, dropping out, or any other path into adulthood.
