Buying channels from the Wii Shop Channel can be free, or by using Wii Points. 2000 of these can be bought from the shops for £14.99 ($20 in the US).
Keep a eye on your Wii's remaning Memory space. Getting lots of big channels can take it up pretty quick.
If you need some space, channels can be copyed to a SD card, but cant be run of them.

- If it asks you to update, update your Wii through the System Settings menu
- Once you can access the Shop Channel, click Start Shopping
- Go to "Wii Channels"
- Select "Nintendo Channel", select where you want to store it, and wait for it to download
