From what I can gather, you are saying that you cannot leave Ever Grande City after battling an Elite Four member?
Either this is a glitch in your game - if that is the case, the only thing I can think of is to turn off your console and start the game again - or you have not completed the Elite Four Challenge.
Once you enter to battle the first of the Elite Four, you cannot leave this area until you have beaten all four trainers and the Champion immediately after. While it is possible to save your game and turn off the console in between matches, you still need to continue from where you saved to get out again. There is no leaving beforehand.
If you have not won against all five trainers and are trying to go back to Ever Grande, you are wasting your time, my friend.
