To get out without completing the island, you have to cross the bed right to left. To do this, go to the wall thermostat above the computer desk. Turn it into the red zone and the heater fan will come on. Go back to the bed and push the wastebasket over. Then you can climb up the trash to reach the bed.

When you are tiny, you can still come and go as you like using the mini-blimp that is anchored by the nightstand.
