To leave once you win (or at any time after you break the rope bridge), jump hard to the left from the top of the rope bridge and you should land on a raised section of masonry. Jump to the vines, then drop down onto the path you came in on.

If you don't jump hard enough, you will end up in the thorn patches, from which you cannot exit. Climb to the top and try again.

Once you are in the Library, you can leave by using the crowbar to open the chains on the right-side door. This is the main castle entrance.
