To start Paladin you need to have Rank 10 Healer/Acolyte and Rank 10 Warrior/Warlord. You could be 10 Healer and Warlord or any mixture as long as you have one of each, then you need to talk to Artix wherever he is and I'm pretty sure you have to do a few quests.
