How do you get past the trail thief v on mysims secret agents because there was this one aprt i keep getting up to and he always runs away even when he's not meant to?

in the beginning you press (B) and walk after him but make sure you till see him if you cant see him then you lose him don't get to close either when you reach near your house that the mayor gave you make sure you start walking on the side walk casue he will look back near there then when he is done looking back hurry and catch up but dont get to close then the rest is safe once you get to the falls there's a turn so at that turn you stand far from the angle then when he when V turns back go after him then you make to your target
