To obtain a prescription for medical marijuana, you must first got a doctor. If the doctor feels that the use of the medicine will be beneficial to your health, he will give you a card. The medical card (thanks to prop 215) will allow you to posses a given amount (usually 1oz-3oz) at one time. You will also be allowed to go to a marijuana dispensary to legally purchase your medicine. That way you don't have to associate with street dealers, and the black market of pot. After obtaining a 215 card, you could also legally grow your own plants. Of course, you can only grow it for yourself, and there is a limit on how much you can grow. Just like any other flower (because it is just a flower you know) or vegetable, it can be extremely cheap and easy to grow successful plants
So get a card if you feel you need one, but please don't flaunt it and take advantage of it. Don't ruin what so many have been fighting so hard for.
