You get red dye by smelting red mushrooms.

Since pocket edition doesn't have red flowers for some dumb reason, you have to smelt red mushrooms. I recommend farming the mushrooms if you want to make lots of dye.
You can only dye sheep in minecraft. This is done by getting either a dye such as a pink die or a natural dye such as an inc sak and right clicking the sheeps body, this will change its color.

Mine some Lapis Lazuli and pick some roses. Put the roses in a crafting slot to make 'Rose Red', then craft Rose Red and Lapis Lazuli together to make 2 units of Purple Dye.
you can dye a soft ball it will take a wile but you can dye it its funn i did mine green
You can only dye leather armour, and to dye it, you take a leather helmet, chestplate, boot or pants in a crafting table, and put any dye along with it. you can also mix together dyes, meaning you can for example take 1 red and one blue inside a crafting table, you get a mix of blue and red on your leather armour!

First you get dye then wool dye the wool and press carpet the craft it simple.
Step 1: Get wool from a sheep by clicking one with shears Step 2: Go underground and find Lapis Lazuli Step 3: Open up crafting and put the lapis lazuli and wool next to eachother. Or maybe you have to cook the Lapis, not sure though.
