Parents cannot expect "respect" from 3-year-old children! Respect is a concept that comes in pre-teen years. You CAN expect a 3-year old to follow some very simple rules, but you can also expect them to fight you tooth and nail.

What you should aim for (not expect) is to find ways that get their cooperation. If you succeed even 5 out of 10 times, that is success. Expect far less than 5 out of 10.

Make chores into games: "Hey Twin A and B, who can put the most blocks into these 2 boxes?!" "Twin A will you help brother put on his socks for mommy?" "Twin B can you help Twin A brush his hair?" (use their names, of course)

Even if they do a messy job, praise them for "helping". That alone is your sole goal: teaching cooperation and helping.
