Get a cat or a rat snake or some poison.
Rat poison commonly contains anticoagulant rodenticides, which cause internal bleeding. An anticoagulant is a blood thinner.
give them rat medicine
First remove any food that rats can get to - an open tub of wildbird seed stored in an outhouse, for instance (keep lid tightly closed). Either use spring loaded rat traps, or put commercial rat poison inside special rat poison plastic containers. If you can trace the nest site, remove any underbrush and debris to clear the area. If you own a cat, avoid poison and use traps instead. Your cat may catch and eat a rat suffering from the poison, and your cat may be poisoned too. If you have a birdtable prevent rats climbing up the post by having a ledge halfway up the post. This ledge should prevent the rat from gaining the table at the top.
You can get rid of your rats by using a Rat Zapper rat trap.
It has a special ingredient called bromethalin. Some species of mice and rats are immune to regular rat poison, maybe they've adapted to it over the years. Bromethalin is supposed to be very effective in getting rid of mice, or an infestation of mice or rats.
The best way to get rid of mice are usually the simplest. They include, but are not limited to, rat poison, mouse traps, and fumigation. If you go with fumigation, it is best to call your local exterminator.
Sulpher smoke will get rid of them.
Wait for the next election and hope they don't get re-elected. Just kidding. Setting traps, using rat poison (and using a professional exterminator), closing up holes where the rats can come in, removing their source of food are just some of the methods.
