try this - If the virus is in the system volume information Download AVG from Grisoft.com, it is free. AVG will not pick it up straight away though. Follow the steps in this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531 and run AVG complete test. AVG should have picked up your virus this time. Istbat.4.H is identified as a Trojan by AVG as of mid-October, possibly earlier. Istbat.4.H hides in System Restore, so turn it off before you scan to facilitate removal of the infected files. I had to run Spybot, download AVG from Grisoft, perform an update to AVG, then reboot into safe mode and run a full system scan. I also ran Ad Aware on another system before it was clean enough to allow antivirus updates and spyware updates. After removal, reboot and run AVG again, just to be sure. I ended up manually deleting a couple of files that AVG couldn't. Run a Windows Update afterwards to patch up vulnerabilities that allow Istbar to operate.
AVG for windows seems to get rid of the downloader, but sometimes it comes back. i personally don't thonk you can get rid of them uless you are willing to do a full system restore. good luck!
