You can try lysine but if that doesn't help then you may want to see your doctor and talk to them about antiviriral medication and to make sure that it's a cold sore.
Well at the beginning you usually get a sore throat and a runny/blocked up nose. If its a chest cough you will start coughing constantly....really croaky coughs. Some times due to the blocked up nose by your eye the bridge of you nose might ache a little. To get rid look up how to get rid of a cold.
A hot towel will not clear up a cold sore.
A cold sore will not get infected if someone puts make up on it.
You may have a blocked up nose, you may cough and sneeze more than usualyoure throat may be sore and its better to take soothers :)
If your cold sore has already appeared then treatment with Zovirax Cold Sore Cream can speed up the healing process.
That is a natural part of the healing process but you are still contagious. Up utill the cold sore is completely gone you can still pas it on. Don't touch the cold sore, if you have to wash your hands after touching it. Don't cover it with mke up, that will only aggravate the sore. Apply some cream like Abreva to the sore regulaly to help speed up the healing process.
you get rid of a closed nose by a couple things and they are: Steam up your nose, use nazel spay, sneeze but only from your nose so cover your mouth, and blow your nose alot
fill a cup with water, then add a lot of salt....the more u put in, the faster it will disappear...mix it up, and then gargle it....continue until the entire cup is gargled, and in the morning, your cold sore should be gone! this is the only method I've ever found that works
A cold sore is caused by the herpes simplex virus and will generally clear up in time. I did have one student in my classroom who kept picking at a cold sore and now has a scar in that area.
Yes. All the snot you produce with a cold is all the fluid in your body. Where normally without a cold it would just be dirty bacteria building up and so on. Blowing your nose constantly wouldn't blow the virus out, it would just end up making your nose really sore. Just rest and take as much med as you can to help you feel better. A cold isn't curable, but it's handable. Just allow your body to do what it has to do.
There are several ways that a cold sore may dry up quicker. See the related link for information on this.
I wouldn't suggest covering up a Cold Sore with makeup, that can just irritate it and make it worse, and last longer. perhaps even scar. Unless, of course, you have special make up that has certain minerals and vitamins that is good for your skin and was recommended by your dermatologist. I would suggest Blistex medicated lip ointment, it will get rid of a nasty cold sore in as little as half a day and as long as three days, if applied religiously. trust me on this, I had had to use it many times when I had braces.
