Best Answer

try aspirin or other pain relieving products also drinking cold drinks always works with me! but hopefuly the pain does get better. another way I learned is to swish an alcoholic beverage and spit it out like whiskey or something. and another way is to put ice on your gums. or if you are at lunch in school, find a really cold water fountain and just spray the water on your gums.

You can take Advil to relieve the pain. it may not clear all the pain, but it kills most of it. try eating soup, spaghetti, grilled cheese or mac n cheese until the pain clears up. the pain should be gone in about 2-3 days. if they get tightened, 3-4 days. taking 1 advil, waiting for about 3 hours, then taking another should ease the pain. even for children 9 and over. HOPE IT HELPS U!!!

Well I have braces now, and I just got on my bottom ones today. Something I found that helps is hot cocoa, make sure it's nice and hot but not enough to burn your tongue. Also the pain should go away within about a week or two, you just have to make it through the first part, which is when the braces move your teeth around. Also this is crazy but this is what helped for me

  1. Chewing sugar free gum (I know i broke the rules)
  2. eating food so the braces will come in place quicker
  3. Suck on Ice

sure you can try hot water and salt but that doesn't really work that well, at least for me it doesn't. avoid crunchy stuff, and also it's okay to take an Advil, or some Tylenol. Just know that the pain will go away, even till you can't even feel it.

In my experience, braces were painful. Only for the first week or so, but they hurt. The best way I found out to relieve the pain was to eat soft food and take a pain killer or two. Take one that lasts 12 hours before you go to bed to avoid the "morning pain". This is caused by you clenching your teeth in your sleep and can be very painful.

Eat soft foods such as mashed potatoes, noodles, ice cream, etc. Sucking on an ice cube always worked for me! If your bracket breaks just use some wax that your orthodontist should have provided for you. Lastly take an ice pack and place it on your mouth, this will numb your mouth and relive a lot of pain. Also Advil, aleeve or excedrine might work

Try dental wax, a numbing gel; like Orgel, eating cold foods, or taking a nap. When you nap, the pain should reduce.
