You cant at the moment. Mobilicity reps said that they cant do anything about it. HTC is not aware of the problem, and they said it is the networks issue, and it has to be taken care of by the carrier. Either learn to cope with it, or get a new phone.
You can have a DSL line without a telephone number. You can then use an inexpensive voice over IP service like Skype.

The only major downside to getting rid of your landline would be not having a guaranteed phone during an extended power outage. Also consider that a landline is not as subject to signal issues like a cell phone would. That said, in this day and age, it is completely viable to rid yourself of a landline, opting to go exclusively wireless.
