Add a bottle of "Pool First Aid". This will break the water's surface tension and the striders can't stay afloat and will drown. This is a temporary fix because, in my experience, more always show up.
Cover your pool if it will not be in use. Remove food sources for the bugs, other dead bugs and foliage. Spray existing bugs with soapy water.
IN Southern California, Pond skippers appeared in my pool about 10 months ago and I've become quite fond of them. They are interesting creatures with an obvious social structure. They don't harm anyone and seem to survive by eating floating debris. The only problem for me has been to convince swimmers to be careful and appreciative of these visitors. I wonder how they survive - not how to get rid of them. I keep chlorine levels rather low which may account for their survival.
The water can be drained outwith a hose.
They can come out of the water and skip on mud, that's why they are called mud skippers.

Mud skippers live in shallow water, mainly in mangrove swamps. They can survive out of water for a time, then return to the surf.
Install a floating pool skimmer
It's possible.
Make sure your chemicals are balanced and add a clarifier available at your pool supply dealer.
Keep clohrine levels at constant
Put a tarp roughly as big as your pool on it overnight if it is near a garden with good hiding places for small things.
by flying, they even fly in puddles.
Pump it into the sewer or just run it into the garden.
