There are various followers who can help you and each of them have unique abilities. Here they are as follows:

Boone: Found in Novac and is a sniper. He makes all enemies visible by making them light up red.

Lily: Found in Jacobstown and is a supermutant. She makes all Stealthboys last 4x longer than usual.

Veronica: Found at the 188 Trading Post and allows you to build items anywhere in the Wasteland.

Rex: Found at the King's School of Impersonation in Freeside and is a robotic dog. He makes all containers with items in them light up green.

Cass: Found at the Mojave Outpost and is an ex caravan owner. She allows you to not take any defects from drinking whiskey.

E-DE: Is a robotic eyebot and found in Primm. Allows you to have a Perception of 10.

Raul: Found at Black Mountain and is a ghoul. He decreases the rate of which your weapons degrade in condition.
