if it is magnetic, use a magnet tied to a string or something
if it isn't magnetic, then take off the cover and reach in
if you can't do any of those, that is a problem. if it is flamible, don't use the heater. if you arn't sure, don't use the heater.
taking apart the system would be another option, but that isn't very cheap if you can't do it yourself.
if none of those work, call the company that made the heater and explain the problem.

Why do you say heat up and cool down instead of heat down and cool up?
To heat something means to bring the temperature up and to cool something means to bring temperature down. Hence the terms "Heat Up" and "Cool down". We actually do not need to add the up or down, as heat in itself means to rise, and cool means to lower. So instead of saying "I need to heat my food up", one could just say, " I need to heat my food".

If I am correctly understanding the question. You have a suspended ceiling and wish to add a register. Ok, two ways, the first is easiest. Get a 2`x 2` register and lay it in the grid in the place of a tile. Second, once you have selected the ceiling location for the register, lay the register in the center of the tile where it is going and trace out & cut the hole in the tile to accept the register and reinstall the tile into the ceiling grid and connect the duct. Make sure everything is properly supported and there is no stress on the tile.

You really don't give enough information. Does this happen when the fan is turned on for heat?? If so, something might have fallen down the holes where the defroster air comes out of the dash and has made it's way down to the fan cage. If it happens all the time, something could have gotten out of the glove box and is in the dash rolling around. Sometimes a bad electrical relay will click when it is trying to make it's electrical connection and it does not have enough power or it's contacts are worn out.
