I have vista and got it to work by going to the start menu and clicking on my computer, and I clicked on the disk drive that had the spore logo on it and went through the install process. It saves in the games folder with minesweeper and solitare along with the other games you've downloaded. You have to say yse when it asks if you want to install the EA download manager. If you have the creature creator and are installing the full game you have to uninstall it, but say no when it asks if it wants to delete your creatures.

If you got it by disc click start and go to games. May take 5-7 minutes to load. LOL =) I had the same problem. Hope this helps.
