Your question made me laugh. I see you have some troubles with dogs. Well, German Shepherds are very loyal dogs. They are friendly and are good with people. I suggest not invading his territory (lawn or house) for a while, and once in a while bring him some meat like lamb, pork, or steak. He will slowly build your trust if you place a bone or chunk of meat or even a dog treat like a milkbone on his lawn. He will love you! Give it a month or two of this and you two will be best friends. Sometimes dogs need to get to know people. Good luck!

Why were the German sheppherd dog called alsation?
All those names above refer to the same dog breed - the German Shepherd. After both World Wars, I and II, anything associated with the name "German" fell out of popularity. So, to avoid the use of the word German in the name for the German Shepherd Dog breed, many countries and kennel clubs changed the name of the dog breed to get rid of the negative German association. So, here's what happened next in the whole GSD name changing saga. Around 1917 or so the American Kennel Club changed the name of the German Shepherd Dog breed to the "Shepherd Dog". Additionally, the members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America also changed their name to the "Shepherd Dog Club of America". In England, Ireland and many other European countries the name of the GSD breed was also changed to the name "Alsatian" (from the Alsace-Lorraine area). The original name for this dog breed in Germany is Deustcher Schaferhund which literally means "German Shepherd Dog". A German Shepherd is considered an adult when they're 1 year old. They normally don't mature til they're about 3 years old. I'm an expert on German Shepherds. I've loved them since I was 8 years old. I don't own one, but I will next summer. They are high maintenence dogs. They have high standards. You need to be able to know how to take care of these dogs. They need a soft hand when they're handeled. Never hit, slap, kick, or yell. You never, ever under any circumstances leave a German Shepherd in a hot car. If you do, that dog will die in less than 10 seconds. I'm not kidding. Its true. If your not capable of taking care of these dogs, then the German Shepherd is NOT the right dog for you.
